The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) recently launched Ready, Set, PrEP, a nationwide program that makes pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) medications available at no cost to individuals who lack prescription drug coverage. The program expands access to safe and effective HIV prevention nationwide by removing cost barriers to individuals who qualify. Qualifying individuals may be enrolled by their provider or by themselves and will be able to pick up their PrEP medications along with patient counseling services at no cost at many pharmacies nationwide, including multiple major pharmacy chains, or via mail order. Eligibility requirements and enrollment information can be found at GetYourPrEP.com and 855-447-8410. HHS also released a set of downloadable communication resources for Ready, Set, PrEP such as fact sheets and social media content, available here.
