To better understand the current impact of the opioid epidemic on the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program (RWHAP), HRSA’s HIV/AIDS Bureau hosted a Technical Expert Panel (TEP) on the “RWHAP Response to the Opioid Epidemic” and has released a new executive summary and technical assistance document. The TEP, summarized in the document discussed the intersection of the RWHAP and the opioid epidemic and how services for people with HIV who have substance use disorders could be bolstered to improve health outcomes.
