The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the Association of Food and Drug Officials (AFDO) are proud to partner for the Calendar Year (CY) 2019 AFDO-Managed Retail Program Standards Grant Program. The program provides funds for the completion of projects and training to enhance conformance with the Voluntary National Retail Food Regulatory Program Standards (Retail Program Standards).
The Calendar Year 2020 Retail Program Standards Grant Program will open to accept new applications on September 4, 2019 and will remain open through October 15, 2019 at 7:59 PM Eastern Time. Approximately $2 million in funding is available for this granting year. This will enable a significant number of awards for jurisdictions in all four project categories – Small Projects, Moderate Projects, Training, and Food Protection Task Force Support Projects.
Jurisdictions that applied for and/or were awarded funds in the previous years are eligible to apply again for funds for 2020 funding. Jurisdictions can apply for funding for one project in each of the four categories for a maximum of four applications per jurisdiction for the funding cycle.
