Webinar Recording: Health Department and Health Center Collaborations to Improve TB Screening, Testing, Treatment, and Care

Sep 03, 2019 | Kim Rodgers

Despite availability of screening and treatment, tuberculosis (TB) remains a leading cause of preventable infectious disease deaths worldwide and disproportionately affects vulnerable populations. In the United States, eliminating TB is a national public health goal and recent estimates indicate that around 80% of U.S. TB cases are a result of reactivation of latent disease, presenting a huge opportunity to take action.

NACCHO, through support from the Health Resources and Services Administration’s (HRSA) Bureau of Primary Health Care, conducted a series of key informant interviews to inform case studies highlighting innovative examples of health centers and health departments coordinating TB services and programs to improve screening, testing, treatment, and care. This educational webinar provided an opportunity to hear a health center representative share their experiences and discuss facilitators and barriers of their efforts.
