Aug 20, 2019 | Kim Rodgers

The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health is hosting a three-part series on the role of syringe services programs (SSPs) in public health. The first webinar in the series was held on July 30. Information about the webinar recording is available below, as well as the dates of the remaining two webinars in the series. Please note that the registration links for the next two webinars are not yet available. Please save the date for now and check back here for an update on how to register in the coming weeks.

  • Webinar 1: Syringe Service Programs – A Critical Public Health Intervention (held July 30) – introduced Syringe Service Programs (SSPs) and discussed how HHS supports SSPs and recognizes SSPs are a major component of the Ending the HIV Epidemic: A Plan for America initiative. View recording and presentation slides.
  • The second SSP webinar will be held September 16 at 2 p.m. EST and will focus on SSP best practices supported by state and local partnerships among public health, law enforcement, and elected officials.
  • The third SSP webinar will be held in late fall and will feature non-governmental organizations across the country that work on SSPs. It will also discuss innovations in funding, management, enhancement, and expansion of SSPs.
