The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) announced that the Smoke Sense mobile application is now available in Spanish on Android and iOS devices. Users’ native (default) device settings will determine the language displayed in the Smoke Sense app.
EPA researchers developed the citizen science mobile app called Smoke Sense as part of a public health study that will further investigate the extent to which wildland fire smoke exposure affects health and productivity, discover how people protect their health during smoke exposure, and develop health risk communication strategies that improve public health outcomes.
- If the app is already downloaded on your device, this update will automatically download from your app store or you will need to update manually, depending on your settings. Once updated, the app will display in your devices’ default language (English or Spanish).
