Webinar: Vaccine Hesitancy, Public Health, and Evidence Based Research

January 8, 2016 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

In observance of Cervical Health Awareness Month, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention will present the “Taming Conversations Around HPV Vaccine and Other Immunizations in Social Media” webinar mini-series. This weekly presentation addresses various aspects of engaging with negative comments or safety concerns on social media platforms. Discussion will be mostly focused on HPV vaccine and its unique challenges; however, many principles that will be addressed are relevant to immunization overall.

Join the CDC’s Adolescent Immunization Communications Team on Friday, January 8, 2016 at 11:00AM ET for the first webinar in this series entitled, “Vaccine Hesitancy, Public Health, and Evidence Based Research.”

Experienced writer and book author Seth Mnookin will kick us off as he is a dynamic speaker, an award winning author and a leader in immunication research development. Seth is the Associate Director of MIT’s Graduate Program in Science Writing and author of “The Panic Virus,” which won the National Association of Science Writers 2012 “Science Society” Award. His presentation will bring a high-level perspective about parental vaccine hesitancy and the research needed to determine what will help parents make the decision to vaccinate their child.
