Webinar: Maternal and Neonatal Syphilis Prevention and Management

In honor of Sexually Transmitted Disease (STD) Awareness Month this April, the Center for STI Prevention at the Maryland Department of Health, the STD/HIV Prevention Training Center at Johns Hopkins, and other training partners will offer a live webinar titled, “Congenital Syphilis: A Preventable Tragedy – What Clinicians Need to Know about Maternal and Neonatal Prevention and Management.” The purpose of this webinar is to inform providers of the rising rates of syphilis among pregnant women and newborns. This session will:
- Describe the epidemiology and risk factors for maternal and congenital syphilis
- Discuss the difficulties of diagnosing maternal and congenital syphilis
- Summarize concerns in preventing and managing maternal and congenital syphilis
