Recent data indicate that there has been an increase in the rate of new hepatitis B infections in the U.S., which many largely attribute to increasing injection drug use. To address this, Hep B United and NACCHO are excited to present this webinar as part of a three-part series on the current state of HBV in the U.S. and local health department efforts and model programs to increase HBV testing, vaccination, and linkage to care.
This first session will focus on the current state of hepatitis B in the United States. Join us to learn about hepatitis B epidemics across the nation, communities at high risk for infection, routes of transmission, HBV test results and case reporting, vaccines, and local health department prevention initiatives. At the conclusion of this webinar, participants will be able to:
Discuss the epidemiology of hepatitis B and at-risk, priority populations
Describe hepatitis B testing, treatment, and prevention measures
Characterize the role of local health departments in preventing and eliminating hepatitis B infections
