Webinar: HIV Data in Action – Update on the Use of Molecular Data to Focus Prevention

January 28 @ 2:30 pm - 3:30 pm

CDC and health departments are using new analytical tools that can help us understand where HIV transmission is rapidly occurring, and focus prevention efforts in these communities. During the webinar, Meg Watson, together with Dr. Alexa Oster, will discuss how CDC and health departments use data, including molecular HIV data, and then will open the webinar up to questions and further discussion. REGISTER.

In October 2018, CDC held webinars with funded community-based organizations and members of HIV planning workgroups to discuss how CDC and funded health departments combine the use of these new tools with traditional public health methods to identify and respond to rapidly growing clusters of HIV. With any new effort, engagement at all levels is critical. Now, CDC is continuing these discussions with organizations representing persons with HIV and their constituents, such as local health departments.
