Webinar: Health Care Data and the Law in the 21st Century, Part II: Linking Data and Quality: A Look at Antibiotic Resistance
July 19, 2017 @ 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm
Since the introduction of antibiotics in the 20th century, bacteria have found ways to mutate and combat the lifesaving medications. Today, overuse and misuse of antibiotics have boosted antibiotic resistance prompting health professionals to find unique ways to curtail antibiotic prescriptions and halt the spread of these dangerous new forms of bacteria. This webinar is designed to discuss how innovative payment and health data systems are advancing the fight against antibiotic resistance. Speakers also plan to provide insight on antibiotic stewardship, the effects of value based systems and Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act requirements on antibiotic prescription control, and the first national regulations aimed at improving antibiotic use in long-term care facilities.
