Webinar: Harm Reduction with People Who Inject Methamphetamine

The National Alliance of State and Territorial AIDS Directors (NASTAD) and the Urban Coalition for HIV/AIDS Prevention Services (UCHAPS) are partnering to host a webinar on detailing methamphetamine use and methamphetamine-specific harm reduction practices that can be adopted within health departments and Syringe Service Programs (SSPs).

Webinar highlights include:

  • An overview of methamphetamine including chemistry, uses, and effects by Dr. Carlo Hojilla from the University of California San Francisco
  • Discussion of meth injection within broader drug user health context
  • Information on overamping prevention and care, health education for participants, and de-escalation techniques by Ruth Kanatser and Kat Humphries with the Harm Reduction Action Center in Denver, CO
  • Jurisdiction-level example
