Webinar: Harm Reduction to Reduce Morbidity & Mortality of Substance Use Disorders
January 29 @ 8:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Substance use disorder is a chronic medical illness and should be treated as such. Harm Reduction is an evidence-based framework that seeks to reduce the morbidity and mortality associated with substance use disorders. It utilizes social policies and practices intended to reduce the negative effect, through respecting the social determinants of health– such as education, adverse childhood experiences, physical and social environment, employment, and sex-based discrimination– that often play large roles in the disease of addiction.
Doctors for America, with the support of the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation, is hosting a webinar on harm reduction on the evening of January 29 (8:00-9:00pm ET). The webinar will discuss the harm reduction as an evidence-based framework that seeks to reduce the morbidity and mortality associated with substance use disorders.
