Tennessee Condom Distribution as a Structural-Level Intervention (CDSI) Regional Institute

Purpose

  • To increase stakeholders’ understanding of all aspects of Condom Distribution as a Structural-level Intervention (CDSI)
  • To promote capacity building assistance (CBA) services for health departments, community-based organizations, and community health organizations
  • To increase attendees’ capacity to implement CDSI

Format:

  • The 2-day institute includes plenary sessions, breakout sessions, group activities, and skills building sessions

Audience

  • CDC grantees receiving direct funding to implement CDSI or other HIV services (health departments, community-based organizations, and other healthcare organizations)
  • Indirectly funded grantees receiving funding to implement CDSI or other HIV services
  • Other funded agencies implementing CDSI or HIV services
  • Any stakeholder that will directly or indirectly implement condom distribution in the United States

Goals

  • Normalize concepts and change the community discourse of condom distribution
  • Increase participants’ understanding of the components and requirements to implement condom distribution as structural intervention
  • Increase participants’ skills in specific areas of implementation and evaluation of their condom distribution program
  • Generate CDSI-specific requests for capacity building assistance
