ASTHO Vector-Borne Disease GIS Training Workshop
June 18 - June 19
ASTHO is hosting a two-day vector-borne disease surveillance workshop facilitated by their partners at the National Library of Medicine’s Community Health Maps Initiative. The workshop will be limited to 10 attendees and will be instructed by Kurt Menke, Certified GIS Professional (GISP) who will instruct on the Community Health Maps Workflow, which incorporates the use of relatively low-cost data collection applications with a no-cost GIS platform. Expert and novice users will learn how to implement mapping workflows and enhance existing surveillance efforts with little budget resource and develop a community-oriented approach to collecting, analyzing, and sharing their own spatial data.
This workshop is open to vector-borne disease professionals at state or territorial health agencies. Participants should also demonstrate basic knowledge of surveillance and/or GIS applications.
If you are interested in attending, please send a short statement of need (Max. 300 words) with your professional CV by COB Friday, April 26th to Sam Williams (email@example.com) or Courtney Youngbar (firstname.lastname@example.org).
