2018 STD Prevention Conference

The 2018 STD Prevention Conference, “Intersecting Epidemics, Integrated Solutions,” will be held August 27-30, 2018 in Washington, DC. Please mark your calendars for an opportunity to learn the latest about STD prevention and research!
- Registration for the conference is now open! Early registration ends on May 31.
- As part of registration for the conference, you can also register to participate in a site visit of the DC Health and Wellness Center on Mon, August 27 from 1PM-4PM. This site visit will provide an opportunity to learn about the work of the Wellness Center and their STD services as well as hear from their community partners such as the laboratory and the multiple youth centers with whom they collaborate. The cost to participate in the site visit is $25 to cover transportation.
- You can now book your stay online at the Omni Shoreham Hotel. Special hotel rates have been negotiated for conference attendees and exhibitors. You must book by August 1 to receive this negotiated rate.
Finally, CDC will begin soliciting nominations for the 2018 Jack N. Spencer Award in the coming weeks. It is given to honor individuals for a career of exceptional contributions to excellence in STD prevention. Awardees are characterized by outstanding commitment to science-based programs, continuous innovation, and profound commitment to helping people. The award will be presented at this year’s conference, so please start thinking about who you want to nominate.
