As a continuation of the trainings and education provided at the 2018 Vector Control Summit, NACCHO is now offering technical assistance in the field of Vector Control. This project is a part of ongoing efforts to provide practical guidance to local health departments on building competency in mosquito control and surveillance.
In the wake of the Zika virus outbreak, 84% of local mosquito control jurisdictions were ranked as “Needs Improvement” in one of five core competencies. Technical assistance will focus on providing actionable steps for local health departments to build these competencies. Local health departments that wish to improve or implement a mosquito control program are eligible to apply.
