The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recently released the CDC Billables Project Evaluation Report. The objectives of this evaluation were to:
- Assess whether the Billables Project strengthened the capacity of local health departments (LHDs) to effectively bill third-party payers for immunization services;
- Identify activities, resources, and stakeholder partnerships that helped or hindered LHDs’ ability to bill;
- Describe the steps taken by LHDs to plan and implement a billing program and the barriers they encountered; and
- Describe trends seen in awardees’ billing programs.
