Register Now! 2018 NACCHO Annual Conference

Jan 29, 2018 | Kim Rodgers

Registration is now open for the 2018 NACCHO Annual Conference, to be held July 10–12 in New Orleans, LA. The theme for this year’s conference is Unleashing the Power of Local Public Health, designed to highlight the ways in which local public health officials have and will continue to positively affect health outcomes in communities across the nation through research, collaboration, and innovation. NACCHO Annual is a special opportunity for local public health officials from all geographic regions of the nation to convene and address efforts around population health, clinical medicine, and the management of systems that measure health and healthcare outcomes. The conference is a one-of-a-kind, learning and networking opportunity for local health officials, and their public health partners to share perspectives and engage in dialogue on common key public health practice issues.

This year’s thought-provoking sessions have been organized around the following conference tracks and the ways local health departments are addressing the underlying causes of health inequity and disparity:

  • Public Health Law and Policy
  • Leadership, Management and Workforce Development
  • Behavioral Health (Substance Abuse, Mental Health, Violence Prevention)
  • Health Equity
  • Healthy Populations and Communities (Chronic Disease, Infectious Disease & Resilience)
  • Addressing the Social Determinates of Health through Partnerships

These tracks are aligned with the work currently underway in local public health departments across the country around assessment, collaboration, communication, and management.
