amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research, launched an Opioid & Health Indicators database in June 2017 to be used as a tool that can provide a window into the opioid epidemic unfolding across the United States. The database now includes new features and content. For the first time, users can now compare data on opioid use, drug-related mortality, HIV, and hepatitis C at the county, state, congressional district, and national level. The website features new side-by-side maps to allow geographic comparisons, multi-year trend data, and 32 indicators on health outcomes, harm reduction policy, law enforcement, and federal funding.
The website is free to use and all data are downloadable in PDF format or as data files for use in research and advocacy. Learn more at http://opioid.amfar.org/.
