The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has released a draft guidance for industry on Refusal of Inspection by a Foreign Food Establishment or Foreign Government. The Food Safety Modernization Act (FSMA) gave the FDA the authority to refuse imported food admission into the United States if the agency is not permitted to inspect the foreign establishment that produced the food.
