The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General (OIG) has released a report on its reviews of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) oversight of food recalls. After a review of 30 voluntary food recalls, the OIG stated that the “FDA did not always have an efficient and effective food-recall process that ensured the safety of the Nation’s food supply.” Learn more about the report here.
