Webinar Series: Culturally Responsive Health Care for LGBTQ Communities

Sep 28, 2017 | Kim Rodgers

Culturally responsive health care – patient-centered care that considers social and cultural factors – is an important element in preventing and treating HIV, reducing health disparities within LGBTQ communities, and contributing to collective efforts to end the HIV/AIDS epidemic. To help health care staff incorporate cultural responsiveness when working with LGBTQ communities, the Primary Care Development Corporation (PCDC) is offering a FREE three-part webinar health series.

The webinars are intended for health care staff from all fields (medicine, social work, navigation) that work to prevent, diagnose, or treat patients living with HIV/AIDS. The series will encourage participants to:

  • Identify barriers to care
  • Take action to create a more welcoming and safe health care center environment for LGBTQ patients
  • Develop an understanding of LGBTQ patient-centered language
  • Seek capacity-building services to enhance LGBTQ responsiveness.

REGISTER today! Your registration will provide you access to all three webinars, which are scheduled for 2:00-3:00pm ET on the following dates:

  • November 1: Culturally Responsive Health Care for LGBTQ Communities
  • November 8: Collecting Sexual Orientation and Gender Identity Data (SO/GI)
  • November 15: Talking About Sexual Health
