The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Office of Policy Development and Research is seeking paper submissions for a symposium in “Cityscape: A Journal of Policy Development and Research.” Ideal paper topics will focus on topics examining the link between housing and health, and can include:
- National epidemiological studies (for example, using national health survey data to examine the
link between housing assistance and healthcare utilization). - Local intervention studies (for example, the impact of smokefree policies on a multifamily unit
or the evaluation of a health promotion program using public housing as the intervention site). - Environmental studies (for example, the impact of lead remediation programs or the overlap of
large multi-unit structures with Superfund sites). - The impact and implications of policy (for example, how federally qualified health centers can
collaborate with housing agencies or how public health entities are strategically addressing
health and housing).
Initial abstract submissions will be accepted through September 30, 2017, full manuscripts will be due by December 15, 2017. Interested individuals and/or agencies are asked to send a brief (100-300 word) abstract describing the proposed article via email to guest editors Veronica Helms (social
