The September/October 2017 issue of the Journal of Public Health Management and Practice features an article highlighting NACCHO’s recent vector control assessment. Titled, “Examining Mosquito Surveillance and Control Capacity in the Top 10 Areas at Risk for Zika Virus Exposure in the United States,” the article is included in the standing column “News from NACCHO.” The article includes key findings, recommendations, and next steps from NACCHO’s assessment report (released in December 2016) examining Zika Virus response capacity among local vector control programs. More specifically, the evaluation targeted agencies operating vector control programs in areas identifed as high risk for infection based on the presence and abundance of the Ae. aegypti mosquito.
