NACCHO’s Health and Disability Program is proud to announce a new online e-learning module titled, “Health and Disability 101: Training for Health Department Employees.” The purpose of this training is to educate health department staff about the benefits of including people with disabilities in all public health programs, products and services.
After completing this course, participants will be able to:
- Name three major types of disability.
- Describe three major health disparities experienced by the population of people with disabilities.
- Provide three examples of accessible features among health department programs and services.
- Explain three benefits to including people with disabilities in health department programs, products and services.

Please note, in order to view the course, an individual must have a MyNACCHO account, as the module is housed in NACCHO University, NACCHO’s learning management platform. This is done by clicking the “sign in” button on the top right and following the prompts to create a new account. Once an account is created, individuals will be re-directed to the NACCHO University homepage and promoted to sign in. After signing in, account holders can register for and access courses by clicking his or her name on the top right of the webpage.
