National HIV Curriculum
The AIDS Education & Training Center (AETC) National Coordinating Resource Center, in partnership with the University of Washington, with support from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services, Health Resources and Services Administration, HIV/AIDS Bureau, is pleased to launch the AETC National HIV Curriculum (NHC). This online tool, the only one of its kind, offers FREE CME/CEU training for physicians, physician assistants, nurse practitioners and pharmacists, and is appropriate for clinicians of all levels – from novice to expert – as well as health profession faculty and students. The NHC is comprised of six modules, each representing a different core competency identified as essential by HIV care experts, and is designed to inform and update healthcare professionals about national guideline recommendations for quality HIV infection prevention, diagnosis, and treatment. HIV/HCV Co-infection Curriculum
The “HIV/HCV Co-infection: An AIDS Education & Training Center (AETC) National Curriculum,” was developed as a component of the Secretary’s Minority AIDS Initiative funded Jurisdictional Approach to Curing Hepatitis C among HIV/HCV Co-infected People of Color – Jurisdictional Sites project. The goal of this curriculum is to provide an evidence-based online curriculum for healthcare providers and trainers of healthcare providers to increase their knowledge on HIV and Hepatitis C virus (HCV) co-infection among people in the United States and its territories, including prevention, screening, diagnosis and treatment recommendations. A team of AETC Program faculty and staff identified six core competencies for providers treating co-infected people living with HIV (PLWH). The curriculum is available at https://aidsetc.org/hivhcv.
