In an effort to further explore using data to drive public health action at the local level, NACCHO hosted a webinar series focused on public health informatics – the applied science of information and computer information systems – as a critical tool to address public health threats and advance public health practice. The 2016-2017 PHI Conference Webinar Series aimed to:
- Provide a space for new and seasoned public health, healthcare, and information technology professionals to learn about emerging topics in the public health informatics field.
- Connect information technology, healthcare, and public health professionals to exchange experiences, ideas, and strategies about public health informatics.
- Promote and share best practices that help local health departments incorporate informatics into their agency’s strategy.
The first webinar in the series was available for public participation, while the remaining two were closed to members of NACCHO’s Biosurveillance Workgroup. However, all of the webinar recordings and materials are now available for general access.
