The Health Impact Project, a collaboration of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the Pew Charitable Trusts, announced a new funding opportunity, which will award at least four, two-year grants of up to $100,000 to advance Health Impact Assessments (HIA) implementation. The grant aims to (1) support the use of HIA to improve community health and (2) build organizational capacity to conduct HIA as a means to integrate health evidence and community voices into decision making processes outside of the health care sector. Eligible applicants include government and non-profit organizations seeking to conduct an HIA on decisions at the local, regional, or state level directly impacting health issues for one or multiple specified counties located in one of 14 designated U.S. states, click to view full list of eligible locations (Appendix A). Grantee applications should clearly outline projects seeking to use HIA to inform decisions made outside of the traditional health and health care sectors.
The grant application period will run from July 2017 to September 15, 2017.
