The Center for Integrated Health Solutions (CIHS), operated by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration and Health Resources and Service Administration (SAMHSA-HRSA), has resources to help Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program (RWHAP) recipients address all aspects of integration including models of integrated care, workforce, financing, clinical practice, operations/administration, and health/wellness. In addition, CIHS has content experts available to work with HRSA-funded HIV providers to answer questions related to integrating behavioral health and primary care.
HIV provider organizations see individuals at risk for or living with a substance use and/or mental health issues. The CIHS can answer questions, including how to organize clinical practice to provide effective care for people living with HIV who have a behavioral health concern or how to enhance the system of care already in place. Consultations can help RWHAP recipients:
- Learn more about integration and how it can positively impact client outcomes;
- Determine how to best include behavioral health screenings as part of HIV programs;
- Understand the intersection of comprehensive HIV care and behavioral health integration;
- Determine training needs of an integrated care team; and
- Learn about tools and practical resources that can help organizations build and sustain integration.
