The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recently released a new resource titled Quick Start Food Emergency Response Job Aids. The resource is made up of three flow diagrams highlighting key general, epidemiological, and environmental tasks for consideration in the early stages of notification to promote an integrated response approach. By providing these diagrams as a resource, the FDA aims to encourage collaborative communication among government agencies including local health departments during the early stages of a foodborne outbreak or contamination (e.g., when it is first suspected or detected).
