Celebrate World TB Day 2017

Mar 22, 2017 | Kim Rodgers

World Tuberculosis Day is March 24. To help public health agencies recognize this important awareness day, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Division of Tuberculosis Elimination (CDC/DTBE) developed the following communication messages and materials:

World TB Day Key Messages and Resources Document
This downloadable PDF contains information that may be helpful in planning communication activities to inform and educate partners, stakeholders and media about TB-related problems and solutions, and the importance of supporting worldwide TB control efforts. Included are key messages, sample social media posts, and links to additional resources. In addition, be sure to add World TB Day graphics to your website or social media messages; share CDC’s animated infographic on the threat of drug-resistant TB; and find out what CDC is doing to combat drug-resistant TB.

World TB Day Social Media Examples:
Be sure to follow CDC TB on Twitter (@CDC_TB) and Facebook (@CDCTB) for more information and shareable content. Images for social media can be found: https://www.cdc.gov/tb/worldtbday/resources.htm

World TB Day Thunderclap
Thunderclap is a tool that lets a message be heard when we say it together. Think of it as an “online flash mob.” Join CDC’s World TB Day Thunderclap, and share the End TB message March 24th at 1:00 p.m. EDT/10:00 a.m. PDT, spreading an idea through Facebook, Twitter, and Tumblr.

U.S. World TB Day Poster: U.S. World TB Day posters are available in 2 different sizes (8.5×11 and 11×17) to download and print.

Reminder! Call for Your World TB Day Activities
If you are planning an event around the 2017 World TB Day, we would like to know about it. As soon as your event is planned, please complete the World TB Day event form and return it by e-mail to Molly Dowling at [email protected]. We will gladly post and share these activities on the World TB Day section of the CDC/DTBE Website.

For examples of past World TB Day events and links to resources that may be of assistance to you in your World TB Day activities, please visit the World TB Day section on the DTBE Website.
