The American Planning Association (APA) recently announced recipients of grant funding for its Planners4Health Program. The non-profit is providing $1.5 million to 28 of its state chapters in an effort to continue creating stronger, healthier communities. The purpose of this six month initiative is to create stronger coordination between planners and public health professionals at the state level.
This project was created to further support for the APA’s three-year Plan4Health Program, which focuses on improving access to healthy food and opportunities for physical activity. As Planners4Health, the selected APA chapters will initiate new partnerships; support existing programs promoting nutrition and physical activity; bring together key community leaders; and share information about the program.
