The CDC in partnership with the the National Environmental Health Association (NEHA), and Baylor University are launching a 2017 assessment of health department staff focused on environmental health. Titled “UNCOVER EH“ this project aims to identify key workforce challenges and other issues impacting this field from the perspective of environmental health professionals working in public health.
The project will first use a web-based survey (sometime in 2017) as its primary tool to collect relevant data from a representative national sample of environmental health staff. Once the survey is complete, two-in person workshops will engage small groups of environmental health professionals to gauge their feedback on the general survey results and any specific emerging trends identified as a result.
Currently, the CDC and its partners are working with health departments across the country to identify survey participants. Health department staff interested in getting involved or finding out more can either visit NEHA’s UNCOVER EH webpage or send an email to Baylor’s UNCOVER EH team.
