FREE IAPAC Membership for Providers in the Fast-Track Cities Network

Dec 09, 2016 | Kim Rodgers

The International Association of Providers of AIDS Care (IAPAC) is committed to bridging the gap between people living with and affected by HIV and the testing, prevention, care, treatment, and supportive services that are available in their communities. At its heart, that is the objective of the Fast-Track Cities initiative, which aims to accelerate local AIDS responses to attain decisive targets leading to the end of AIDS as a public health threat by 2030.

Thus, IAPAC is offering free membership within their association to healthcare professionals and paraprofessionals who are delivering HIV and related services within the Fast-Track Cities network. This offer is also extended to healthcare professionals and paraprofessionals offering services related to HIV co-morbidities, including tuberculosis and viral hepatitis. IAPAC’s objective is to promote the availability of and increase access to and utilization of such services as a means of scaling up testing, linkage to combination prevention, linkage to care and treatment, as well as improving health outcomes for people living with and affected by HIV.

Following are the U.S. Fast-Track Cities for which IAPAC is offering free membership: Atlanta, GA; Baltimore, MD; Denver, CO; Miami, FL; New Orleans, LA; New York City, NY; Oakland, CA; Phoenix, AZ; Providence, RI; San Francisco, CA; and Washington, DC.

IAPAC membership benefits include:

  1. Access to IAPAC CME-/CE-/CPU-accredited educational offerings
  2. Access to online issues of JIAPAC, a bimonthly clinical journal
  3. Up to a 60% discount on all IAPAC conference registration fees

In addition to enjoying IAPAC membership benefits, and with your consent, IAPAC will feature you and the services that you deliver on your city’s web-based Fast-Track City dashboard. With your authorization, IAPAC will map on your city’s dashboard information meant to allow people living with and affected by HIV to locate you and access/utilize the HIV and related services that you provide. At a minimum, your listing on your city’s dashboard will include your name, affiliation, a summary of the HIV and related services that you provide, and your contact information (e.g. physical address, telephone number, and website, if available).
