In 2015, with funding support from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and in partnership with the International Society for Disease Surveillance and the NACCHO Biosurveillance Needs Assessment Survey (BNAS) Workgroup, NACCHO conducted a survey of 500 local health departments to assess the management and use of electronic syndromic surveillance (SyS) practice and identify opportunities for improving both individual and organizational capabilities in biosurveillance. The below infographic presents a snapshot of the survey results and provides the most current overview of SyS use at local health departments.
