Now Accepting Scholarship Applications: 2016 AUCD Annual Conference

Sep 30, 2016 | Anastasia Sonneman

Each year the Association of University Centers on Disabilities (AUCD) hosts an annual conference offering training, professional development, and networking opportunities for individuals and agencies seeking to advance the disability community. This year’s conference will focus on “Navigating Change: Building our Future Together,” and will take place on December 4-7, 2016 in Washington, DC.

AUCD strives to attract a diverse pool of conference attendees, by ensuring inclusion and accessibility are integral in all aspects of conference planning and implementation. In an effort to reduce cost as a barrier to participate, AUCD offers reduced registration and scholarships covering traveling costs for students, individuals with disabilities, and family members of individuals with disabilities. AUCD is currently accepting applications for two scholarships funding travel and attendance for the 2016 annual conference:

  • Emerging Leader Scholarship Fund: covers 2016 AUCD conference attendance costs, including up to $750 for travel expenses and a waived registration fee for self-advocates, family members, trainees and young professionals. Application is due October 3, 2016. Click to learn more and apply.
  • Trainee Travel Scholarships: provides financial assistance of up to $500 covering the travel costs of 20 trainees and four trainee volunteers to attend the 2016 AUCD Conference. Application is due October 17, 2016. Click to learn more and apply.
