The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention just released news of the first documented case of female-to-male sexual transmission of Zika virus. The suspected case was identified by the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. Upon testing, the woman’s serum and urine tested positive for Zika virus RNA. Seven days after intercourse with the woman, the male partner developed Zika-related symptoms.
