Obama Provides Progress Update on the Affordable Care Act

President Obama recently penned an article for the Journal of the American Medical Association, providing a progress report on the Affordable Care Act (ACA). Published on Monday, “United States Health Care Reform — Progress to Date and Next Steps” highlights ACA’s successes and outlines the healthcare areas Obama believes require additional focus by policymakers in the near term and in the next administration. Some of these include coverage, payment models, and drug prices – issues important to all Americans, but especially pertinent to certain populations (e.g., people living with HIV/AIDS).
