Per the CDC’s Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP), LAIV, or FluMist, should not be used during the 2016-2017 flu season. Since many school-based influenza vaccination clinics rely heavily on FluMist, or use it exclusively, it’s critical to begin sharing examples, experiences, and resources that will help these clinics develop and implement alternative vaccination programs.
To that end, NACCHO is requesting feedback from local health departments operating school-based influenza vaccination clinics with injectable influenza vaccine. Please email [email protected] to share any examples, resources, or experiences you’ve encountered while running school-based clinics and vaccinating influenza with the flu shot.
Thank you in advance!
