The U.S. Preventive Services Task Force released a final recommendation statement on screening for syphilis infection in nonpregnant adults and adolescents. The Task Force strongly recommends screening individuals at increased risk for syphilis infection. A fact sheet that explains the final recommendation in plain language is also available. The final recommendation statement can also be found in the June 7, 2016 online issue of The Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA).
