The Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologists (CSTE) recently announced a new funding opportunity: Flu Near You Data Implementation Pilot Project. This funding opportunity serves to encourage and facilitate the use of Flu Near You data by enabling a sample of U.S. health departments to acquire, manage, analyze, and interpret data from the Flu Near You participatory surveillance system in order to augment existing influenza surveillance methods. The opportunity is open to State, territorial, and large local public health agencies. A large local public health agency is defined as a city or county health department serving a population of 500,000 or more residents.
