Innovating for Environmental Health App Challenge

Feb 22, 2016 | Alyson Jordan

The National Environmental Health Association, with the support of Esri, will be hosting their first ever app challenge, titled “Innovating for Environmental Health.” Individuals will create apps to elevate the field of environmental health between the months of March and May 2016. The goal is to inspire EH professionals to move towards open data and technology by presenting innovative, data-driven solutions to EH problems. Participants will have access to Esri’s ArcGIS software for developing apps, and are strongly encouraged to use the CDC’s Environmental Public Health Tracking API as a main data source for their apps. The top three winners of the app challenge will share a monetary prize, and a representative from the team that wins first place will attend the 2016 NEHA AEC & Healthy Homes Conference in June to present their app in front of an audience of industry and EH professionals in San Antonio, Texas. To learn more or to register to participate in the Innovating for Environmental Health app challenge, please go here.
