Federal Resources on COVID-19 and HIV/AIDS

The CDC, HRSA HIV/AIDS Bureau, and NIH have recently issued guidance and FAQs regarding COVID-19 and HIV/AIDS. Please see the resources below and share with your networks.

HHS HIV/AIDS Guidelines Panels Release Updated Interim Guidance for COVID-19 and Persons with HIV
The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services released an updated version of the Interim Guidance for COVID-19 and Persons with HIV. The guidance includes an introduction that clarifies, “People with HIV who have COVID-19 have an excellent prognosis, and they should be clinically managed the same as persons in the general population with COVID-19, including when making medical care triage determinations.”

CDC FAQ on COVID-19: What People with HIV Should Know
CDC recently released a new FAQ on COVID-19 for people living with HIV. The new resource addresses concerns related to COVID-19 and HIV and highlights how people with HIV can protect their health. The FAQs will be updated and additional content added as new information becomes available.

HRSA-HAB: FAQ for Ryan White HIV/AIDS Program Recipients, Subrecipients and Stakeholders
HRSA’s HIV/AIDS Bureau has made available a detailed FAQ guide for RWHAP recipients and partners discussing providing HIV/AIDS care during emergencies; AIDS Drug Assistance Programs; telehealth; reporting and grant management; and more.

Additionally, the HIV Medical Association and the Infectious Disease Society of America released recent resources for COVID-19:
