The US Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) has issued new recommendations for hepatitis C virus (HCV) screening. The previous recommendations, which called for one-time screening of all adults born between 1945 and 1965, have been expanded to include all adults ages 18 to 79 years old. The recommendations also call for screening of all pregnant adults as well as adolescents under 18 with risk factors (e.g., injection drug use).
