The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services Office of Population Affairs (OPA) is accepting grant applications for the Teen Pregnancy Prevention Program. The grant awards will establish, support, and/or evaluate innovative interventions to improve adolescent health, prevent teen pregnancy, and reduce sexually transmitted infection (STI) rates. There are three components to this funding opportunity:
Optimally Changing the Map of Teen Pregnancy through Replication of Programs Proven Effective (Tier 1)
OPA anticipates funding approximately 65 Tier 1 projects to replicate effective programs and supportive services proven to improve the optimal health of adolescents and reduce teen pregnancy and STIs. These Tier 1 projects will identify multiple leverage points to maximize impact on promoting optimal health and preventing teen pregnancy and STIs.

Teen Pregnancy Prevention (Tier 2) – Phase II Rigorous Evaluation of Promising Interventions
OPA anticipates funding approximately 10 Tier 2 projects to evaluate promising interventions that could contribute to adolescent optimal health, prevent teen pregnancy, and reduce STI rates through efficacy or effectiveness studies. These Phase II Tier 2 projects continue efforts supported through FY18 and FY2019 Phase I New and Innovative Strategies but are open to applicants not previously funded through Phase I.

Innovation and Impact Network Grants (Tier 2) – Achieving Optimal Health and Preventing Teen Pregnancy in Key Priority Areas
OPA anticipates funding approximately 15 Tier 2 projects to establish and support a multidisciplinary network of partners to develop and test innovative interventions in several priority areas. The goal of these efforts is to make an impact on optimal adolescent health, teen pregnancy, and STI rate disparities.
