CDC “Dear Colleague” Letter Highlights STD Priorities

Dr. Gail Bolan, Director of the Division of STD Prevention (DSTDP) at CDC, shared an end-of-the-year message outlining what the Division has been working on and what is upcoming, including their next steps in the fight against STDs by focusing on four strategy areas:

  • enhancing STD surveillance
  • promoting cost-effective STD interventions such as outbreak investigations, testing and treatment, partner services, and linkage to care
  • increasing uptake of CDC screening and treatment recommendations
  • strengthening the evidence for STD prevention and control.
