On November 18, the Big Cities Health Coalition, an independent initiative of NACCHO, released an interactive data platform and report that examines data for 26 cities across 34 health indicators. The data set is the first of its kind to be compiled in an open access format to provide a broad, comparable view of city health. The report reveals the progress cities have made in reducing mortality rates for diabetes and cancer, and improving adult obesity rates, as well as other winnable battles. Funding for this project was primarily provided by the CDC with programmatic support provided to the Coalition by the de Beaumont Foundation and The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation.
