NACCHO Announces Request for Applications: Implementing Overdose Prevention Strategies at the Local Level

Sep 24, 2019 | Andrea Grenadier

NACCHO announces a funding opportunity to local health departments through a Request for Application (RFA) process. With support from CDC’s National Center for Injury Prevention and Control, NACCHO will be offering funding to 12 high-burden counties to implement activities that address their community’s challenges related to drug overdose deaths through an interdisciplinary, comprehensive, and cohesive public health approach.

Project activities will focus on establishing linkages to care; supporting providers and health systems; developing and/or enhancing partnerships with public safety and first responders; empowering individuals to make safer choices; and implementing prevention innovation projects.

Several resources are available to assist LHDs with the application process, including work plan templates, budget one-pagers, and an applicant informational webinar. For specific details visit NACCHO’s webpage or the related Documents section of the RFA.

Application requirements and full details of the project are available in the RFA. Applications are due by 11:59 PT on October 23, 2019. Questions about the RFA and application process can be directed to NACCHO’s Overdose Prevention Team, at [email protected].
