The Foundation for AIDS Research, amfAR, created a free and interactive EHE database that provides information on policy, services, and demographic and epidemiological indicators across EtHE jurisdictions. The Ending the HIV Epidemic Initiative (EtHE) aims to reduce HIV infections in the United States by 75% in five years, and by 90% in 10 years.
The Federal government will evaluate the effectiveness of the EtHE initiative via traditional epidemiological indicators: HIV incidence, knowledge of serostatus, HIV diagnoses, linkage to HIV medical care, viral suppression and pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP) coverage. Although crucial to evaluating outcomes, these indicators do not address the varying contexts across localities in which EtHE will be implemented. The EtHE database created by amfAR will assist with understanding context which will be crucial to identifying facilitators and barriers that may impact EtHE implementation in each jurisdiction.
